Time tracking matters most for hourly employees and for valuing overtime. Monthly-salaried staff can be paid without it.
Work schedules
Time → Work schedules. A schedule is a weekly template: which days are worked, start and end times, break minutes.
Create the schedule once, then assign employees to it.
Schedule assignments
Time → Schedule assignments. Attach an employee to a schedule for a date range.
An employee cannot hold two overlapping assignments — the system rejects the overlap rather than guessing which applies. Leave the end date empty for an open-ended assignment.
Shifts
Time → Shifts. For planning specific coverage rather than a repeating pattern. A shift range cannot exceed the configured maximum days.
Time entries
Time → Time entries. A clock in and clock out for a given date, minus break time.
One entry per employee per date. Computed total hours must be greater than zero and no more than 24.
Timesheets
Time → Timesheets shows the weekly rollup per employee: hours worked against hours expected from their schedule.
Use it as the check before running payroll for hourly staff. A blank week means no entries were recorded, and those employees will calculate to zero.
How it reaches payroll
- Hourly employees — paid on recorded hours × hourly rate.
- Overtime — hours beyond standard, valued by the multiplier in the active overtime policy.
- Monthly employees — hours are informational; pay comes from base salary adjusted for absences.
Overtime policies
HR → Overtime policies. Defines the multipliers for regular, rest day and holiday overtime, plus standard daily and weekly hours.
A policy needs to be active and approved, and its date range must cover the overtime you record. Overlapping active policies for the same range are rejected.
Common questions
Recorded overtime is not valued. No active approved policy covers that date.
Can I import clock data from a device? Not yet. Entries are recorded in the app.
An employee has hours but was paid zero. Check their salary type. A monthly employee is paid base salary, not hours.
